Backstage Rising - How do you rethink music?

Backstage and Roskilde Festival in cooperation with WiMP invite you to spend a day at Roskilde Festival 2012 with leading industry experts focusing on the latest trends in international music promotion.

Backstage: Rising is an inspiring workshop for music industry professionals who want to stay one step ahead with the latest industry trends. During the day international and renowned experts in the music business will talk about the latest developments and challenges faced by the industry and involve you in discussions.

You can also learn about Roskilde Festival's own experience with the new initiative Roskilde Rising, where we focus on creating closer bonds and involvement between band and audience. In short, you can expect a day full of untraditional learning, exciting presentations, discussions and active participation that leave you inspired and ready to embrace the future of the music industry.

Speakers include:

Thor Martin Jensen, Global Head of Editorial at WiMP. Thor is recognized for his editorial and local approach to music streaming and inspires and guides listeners on a wide range of musical genres and moods. Thor will talk about how WiMP’s music editors differentiate by using artistic user communication in the digital world, and how you can promote your music or artist in WiMP. Read more about WIMP 

Kjartan Slette, Head of International Operations, WiMP - "What is streaming?". Streaming is something else entirely, something shiny from the beyond, a spaceship into the future. Come join us for a joyride and let us, as an industry, try to figure out how we fly this thing.

Søren McGuire, project leader of Roskilde Rising, “How can activities strengthen, solidify and expand bands' presence on the Scandinavian music scene?”. A closer look at the meeting between band and audience.

Per Vers, has been a professional rapper for over 12 years and double undefeated champion in MC's Fight. He tells about his experiences in the music industry and his untraditional methods he employs in order to spread his music.

Backstage: Rising takes place at Roskilde Festival on 4th of July. Price DKK 1350/ EUR 181 incl. VAT.
