About CCEE

The Center for Culture and Experience Economy is an independent government-funded agency established in 2008 by the Ministry of Economics and Business Affairs and the Ministry of Culture. The creation of the CCEE is the fulfillment of an agreement between a broad coalition of political parties which recognized the importance of culture and the experience economy to Denmark’s general economic outlook.

Mission and Vision
The CCEE’s aim is to promote the growth of the Danish culture and experience economy by facilitating cooperation between businesses and the cultural and creative sectors – and to strengthen the business competency of entities in the cultural arena.

CCEE will collect information and generate new knowledge about experience-based business development involving both the business and cultural sectors.

CCEE’s vision is to help realize the potential for integrating culture and experience into Danish businesses and to improve conditions for business growth.

The target groups of CCEE are two-fold: Any and all businesses and organizations who can benefit from integrating creative competencies and utilizing experiential elements in their products and services; and players in the cultural sector who recognize the advantages of increasing cooperation with businesses.

Tasks
CCEE’s work includes the following five main tasks:

  • Project support: Initiating and supporting projects which strengthen cooperation and the exchange of competencies between the cultural/creative sector and businesses. 
  • Promotion: Promoting the culture and experience economy and enhancing cooperation between institutions and actors in this area. 
  • Knowledge: Gathering and generating knowledge within Denmark and from abroad, including from the “experience zones”, and disseminating this information to the public, the cultural sector and related organizations. 
  • Guidance: Generating dialogue and providing guidance to businesses who wish to work with experiences and creative competencies, as well as to players in the cultural arena who wish to engage in positive interaction with businesses. 
  • Assessment: Assessing perspectives and evaluating the culture and experience economy and focus on businesses commercial benefits from experience-based business development.
